Southern California First Jurisdiction Churches of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Joe L. Ealy, announces its 96th Annual Holy Convocation, Monday June 21st through Sunday June 27th, 2010.

This convocation will be a sacred time of reflection on God’s word and an opportunity for spiritual growth.  The theme focus this year is “Recovering the Influence and Power of the Past.” The innovative and inspiring workshop sessions will be held at Gospel Memorial COGIC (1480 Atlantic Ave.- Long Beach, 90813) at 9:15am beginning on Tuesday and the morning worship service will begin at 12noon.

The evening services Monday through Friday will be held at David Starr Jordan High School (6500 Atlantic Ave.-Long Beach, 90805) at 7pm nightly.  Women’s Day is Thursday at 9am; the State Supervisor, Dr. Barbara McCoo Lewis will give the Convocation Address. On Friday evening, Bishop John Henry Sheard of Michigan will be the guest speaker.

Everyone will gather to hear the voice of the Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Joe L. Ealy during the official day service on Sunday, June 27th at 3pm at West Angeles Cathedral (3600 Crenshaw Blvd- Los Angeles 90016), where Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake of the Churches of God in Christ Worldwide is Pastor.
