Scripture: Proverbs 4:7
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom; and with all thy getting get understanding.” “Exalt her, and she shall promote thee; she shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her.” “She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace; a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.”
Someone has said, “You are what you eat.” This may be true if you bite off more than you could chew. Someone else said, “We are what we read,” but that’s only if you can read. But, the Word of God in Proverbs says, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
I want to tell you that you are ‘what you believe.’ If you believe you can, then ‘you can.’ If you believe you ‘can’t,’ then you probably ‘won’t.’ In everything that we do, you must have enough ‘faith’ to believe it and know that God and the power of Jesus Christ within you will help you do what you cannot do yourself.
We are what we believe, and when we fail to believe in ourselves, we limit the Power of God in our lives. Understanding is the best thing. No matter how many times you have tried and failed, you are not a failure until you believe you are. Understand that you can’t fail on the outside until you have failed on the inside.
Our scripture reference tells us to get wisdom and with all our getting, get understanding which releases you to embrace the truth, and the truth will equip you to be released into the arms of victorious living. When you know better, you do better.
How typical of the enemy to keep us distracted from our present by binding us into worrying about our future. Today is today, complete with its own set ups and setbacks. We must understand that God is the God of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Whatever your situation, there is a ‘present’ Word from the Lord to help you put a grip on slippery situations, circling crisis, and depressing dilemmas in your life. Take authority through the Word by faith, and put the devil under your feet. God gave us ‘today’ so that we might ‘live in the moment.’ Understanding is the best thing, ‘today.’
When your world turns upside down, the Word of God will lift you up, hold you up and carry you through. Our relationship with God through Jesus Christ and the trust we have in His Promises, sustains us through the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Isaiah said, “Hast thou not known, hast thou not heard that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might, he increaseth strength.”
Finally, sometimes we live with the mistaken impression that things will always be the same. We will be in the same place, wrestling the same problems, and lifting the same bales of trouble.
But ‘same’ stagnates our minds, defeats our innovation, removes versatility, and stifles creativity. Understand that, everything must change.
We are not the ‘same’ because of Jesus Christ and the power of God in our lives. Every crisis only deepens our faith and every struggle only strengthens our character, as the Word of God lightens our load and brightens our hope, and springs us into victorious living in the midst of change.
God’supernatural power released in our lives will take us places we have not gone before, to do things we have not experienced before, to reach those we have not reached before, and see miracles beyond our mess, and we will not be the ‘same.’
Praise God for understanding. I got wisdom and in all my getting, I got understanding. Understanding is…..the best thing.
