In 2010, the Dorsey Alumni Cheerleaders (Classes of 1976, ’80,’81, & ’82) returned to show they still got it.
In 2011, the Alumni Donnas returned, along with some new faces (Class of 1979 alumni), proving they still have that school spirit.

An Enduring Legacy
When I met these ladies, they had personality, sass and energy that would put the energizer bunny to shame. These ladies came from the old school of cheerleading where you represented your school from head-to-toe. The Dorsey High Alumni Cheerleaders are cheering enthusiasts any school, of today or yesterday, would be honored to have represent them.
The Alumni Dorsey Donnas returned to their campus in November 2010 for the Annual Homecoming game at Jackie Robinson Stadium on Rodeo Rd. Captains, Co-Captains, Yell Queens and the rest of the squad returned, some in their original uniforms, back and ready to get the party started once again. The returning Cheer Squad was made up of alumni from the class of 1976, 1980, 1981 and 1982.
The ladies had been practicing their cheers, which were going to be showcased during the game. The Alumni Donnas turned the party out and proved that “age ain’t nothing but a number.” Their exploits gained the attention of popular media outlets and the Donnas got the recognition they deserved.
Their presence was so recognized and they’re spirit so infectious, that they returned in 2011. Just about everybody showed up along with some other alumni from other years. Once again, the ladies brought the funk and attitude that has made Dorsey a proud alma mater. They also returned for 2012 and represented as they always do.
These ladies are the Dorsey Donnas—true blue cheerleaders. Happy Woman’s Month ladies!
