The Olson Homes in conjunction with the city of Compton and 93.5 the beat presented “The Willow Walk Family Concert In the Park” at the Willow Walk town homes on Saturday. Among those in attendance were the mayor of Compton, Eric J. Perrodin, various Compton city counsel members as well as motivational speaker Dr. Linda Hodo, Home Depot, Wing Stop, AT&T and Best Buy. Musical guest included Ruthless Records recording artist Na’shay, Peak Recording Artist Leigh Jones as well as Pastor Theo Wilkins and Sounds of Praise and local gospel group, Divine Purpose. “The idea for this event was a collaboration between Constantine, ad manager from 93.5 the beat, myself and Bill Holberg. We had been talking about ways to promote this property and the idea for this event came up .We agreed that this would be the perfect way to promote Willow Walk, have the neighbors come and see this great new property.” said Michelle Johnson, vice president of sales and  marketing at The Olson Group.

Willow Walk is located on Willowbrook and Compton next to the Blue Line metro train station. These spacious, three-story town homes feature up to 4 bedrooms and 4 baths, plus an attached 2-car garage. These units also include private porches and decks in addition to designer finishes and state-of-the-art amenities throughout. There’s even a playground right on the gated Willow Walk grounds. Prices start at $200,000 and up.

“The price for the town home that I live in was very affordable, that was the only reason I was able to move in. I got it through the first time homebuyers program, so it was very affordable. The sales people are so helpful. I dealt with April Showers-Boulden and she answered all of my questions and more. If she did not have the answer she went out of her way to get it to me, she made feel comfortable to ask any questions. This neighborhood is wonderful,” stated Angie Thomas, a resident of Willow Walk.

Raymond Jackson echoed this sentiment, a resident of the complex for 6 months “It is cool living here. This complex gives you a kind of a secluded feel. I have two little boys, so the pretty grass and the playground are good for them. This a safe neighborhood, that is very important to me.”

Mayor Eric J. Perrodin states, “I love this complex, because it is affordable and we are trying to encourage people to try to come back to Compton. This complex is ideally located; we have the blue line right outside of the gates of the complex. You can travel anywhere that you want in LA County area just by using our blue line that is an ideal part of it. If you do not want to use our public transportation, this complex is close to the 91,105, 110, 405, and 710 freeways. It is affordable and you cannot live in a better place than this. We also have a great shopping center right outside of the gates.”

Councilwoman Lillie Dobson summed up everyone’s feelings by saying “This is the very first project that I got to vote on when I was appointed as a council woman six years ago. We got delayed but I am so glad that this has come into fruition. I am thanking God for this, because it is an answer to our city. Anybody would love to live here, that was what my goal was when I was appointed. We want to make this city a city people can proud to live, worship and work in. This event is so wonderful and I am glad that I could come out and be apart of it.”
