Mikki Wade

Do you believe a person set up for failure can be successful? Mikki Wade does…

Born in Central Africa, Mikki’s childhood was not an easy one. Like many, his family was a dysfunctional one and as a result he didn’t have a good relationship with his father. His mother’s love, however, meant the world to him. When Mikki was 12, his father moved him and his siblings back to America where he was originally from. Mikki’s mother, however, stayed behind. She died the following year and, living miles away, Mikki never got to say goodbye.

With his mother gone, Mikki became involved in street gangs. But at the age of 18 he decided this was not the life for him. A few years later Mikki accepted an invitation to Kevin Holland’s church. God spoke to his heart and Mikki listened. It’s no mistake the church’s name is “Turning Point.”

God became the Father figure Mikki needed, and Mikki said “Goodbye” to his destructive habits. Over the next five years, Mikki became more involved in church where he met his wife. They dated for one year before marrying and remained celibate until their wedding day.

Mikki loved his wife but still had deep issues from his past that put a strain on their relationship. He enrolled in Russell Friedman’s “Grief Recovery” class which helped him release his anger and forgive the past while dealing with and taking responsibility for his emotions. Mikki continues to learn how to foster his relationships with the help of people like Dr. Jack O. Balswick, Director of Marriage and Family Research at the Fuller Theological Seminary.

While working on his inner self, Mikki was also determined to improve his health. After reading Sanctification of Blood by Dr. Tim O’Shea, and researching his website (, Mikki lost over forty pounds and rarely gets ill anymore.

Also ambitious, Mikki fostered his entrepreneurial spirit starting a business at 27. By the time Mikki was 34, he was making an impressive sum of money in real estate. At one point, he made $110,000 in 45 days. Mikki finally felt successful but after attending one of Dani Johnson’s seminars he changed his mind. He realized that working hard and spending harder wasn’t the way to live. He was defining success by someone else’s standard.

Today, Mikki measures his success by balance; balanced Finances, Relationships, Emotions, Spirituality and Health (F.R.E.S.H.). Mikki desires to share how others can be balanced too. His dream is to start a school called the F.R.E.S.H. Hope Academy that teaches young children about these five key areas. After a recent seminar featuring Brian Klemmer, however, Mikki realized he lacked trust in one person–himself. His inability to trust himself was keeping him from his dreams.

Taking a step of faith, Mikki decided to host a Seminar (F.R.E.S.H. Balance 4 Life). The Seminar will be held on August 22, 2009 at the Pasadena Convention Center. While most seminars focus on one area, F.R.E.S.H. Balance 4 Life covers five different areas that are all intertwined. The Seminar will create a paradigm shift, and people will learn why they’re having problems in these areas and how they too can change. Mikki’s goal is that the Seminar will raise the funds needed to make his dream, the F.R.E.S.H. Hope Academy, a reality.

To achieve his dream, Mikki contacted the key people mentioned above who’ve helped him in these areas, all complete strangers except for Kevin Holland, his Pastor. Each person agreed to participate through “a phone call and a prayer.” Mikki’s 5 year old son also prayed which he believes made a world of difference.

As a child, Mikki Wade lost his hope. Now he wants to help children just like him get it back.
