The new restaurant is African-American owned by McDonald’s operator, Fran Jones. Fran has been a local owner/operator since 1984 and has held a number of high-level posts in the company including serving as the only female president of the National Black McDonald’s Operators Association and on the Board of Directors of the National Operators Advisory Board.  She has been acknowledged with dozens of awards for outstanding civic and community service work from numerous national and local organizations designed to improve conditions for minorities and women.

The Golden Arches will shine a little brighter at the newly built McDonald’s restaurant located at 5908 W. Manchester Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90045. The grand opening celebration will take place on Saturday, May 3 with a ribbon cutting, remarks from local community and government officials, and a special appearance by Ronald McDonald. The new restaurant officially opened on March 28 and features a modern exterior design which includes a welcoming entry into the restaurant and a double-lane drive-thru for enhanced, on-the-go service. Additional enhancements include upscale interior décor, comfortable lighting levels and fixtures that create pleasant dining experiences and modern seating and furniture, including booths, chairs, high seated community tables and lounge-style seating areas.

“We’re changing with the times – and we are always excited to not only serve quality food to our neighbors, but become a larger part of the community,” said Fran Jones, McDonald’s owner/operator. “McDonald’s is committed to the communities in which we do business and in our standards of excellence in quality, service, cleanliness and value for which we are known.”

McDonald’s restaurants across the nation are taking a holistic approach to looking at the internal and external décor of its restaurants to meet consumers’ growing needs. The innovative design of new and reimaged restaurants give a contemporary “forever young” feel in line with the McDonald’s “i’m lovin’ it” brand essence. In Southern California, more than 200 restaurants have been built or reimaged with the new McDonald’s look.

This Manchester McDonald’s restaurant is one of more than 600 franchised and company-owned McDonald’s restaurants in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties that comprise The McDonald’s Operators’ Association of Southern California.
