After switching on the signal light, Wesson and the community residents took the first walk, a safe walk, across Martin Luther King Boulevard.

City Council President Herb Wesson was recently joined by Baldwin Village residents in celebrating the installation of a new traffic signal at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Nicolet Avenue in Baldwin Village.

Partnering with Wesson were members of the “Baldwin Village Community in Action” organization who have made the installation of the signal an important neighborhood safety priority.

“I am so grateful for the leadership of ‘Baldwin Village Community in Action,’ especially Mary Jones Dark and Lavern Turner,” said Wesson.  “We want to keep our residents safe, and having the strong support of the residents of Baldwin Village was very important.”
