On Friday, September 18 L.A. City Council President Herb Wesson hosted his largest “Movies in the Park” gathering of the season with nearly 1,500 youth and their families joining the festivities at Westside Neighborhood Park. Each summer Wesson hosts several community events screening various family-friendly flicks for a night out under the stars. The “Movies in the Park” provides a fun and safe environment for all ages. In addition to the movie screenings, Wesson also provides all attendees with a meal, drink, popcorn and candy. Sweetening the deal is the added bonus of Wesson’s always exciting raffle drawing. Friday’s prizes included bicycles, skateboards, headphones and one lucky winner took home a big-screen television.
