Let’s Be Happy To Give

Well, it’s here again…Thanksgiving! The time when we stuff ourselves with turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie and all the rest of the family favorites. We all know that this holiday is about giving thanks, and hopefully we all do because there’s always plenty to be thankful for, but do we practice giving on this day?

It’s easy to get lost in the food, games, football and holiday chatter amongst ourselves but let’s not forget about giving. I know many of us volunteer this time of year at food shelters, churches, senior citizens homes and other places. It’s always a blessing to serve the less fortunate because it allows us to help others and be grateful for what we have.

Let me implore that this is also the time to give to our loved ones and our families. This is the time to give those things that the people around us may need most. Whatever it may be, forgiveness, understanding, respect, kindness, gentleness, love…let’s use this holiday to give what’s needed most by our family and friends.

I hope we all have a happy day of giving and thanking the Lord for what he has done for us this year so far. I also hope that we all will give thanks for one another and for all the blessings we each possess. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!
