The Mid-Winter Board Meeting of the Western Baptist State Convention (WBSC) kicks-off on Saturday, March 1, and continues on Monday, March 3, through Thursday, March 6, at Second Baptist Church, 4300 Westminster Avenue in Santa Ana.
“We extend a personal invitation to one and all to join us and the Rev. Ivan Pitts, host pastor, for God’s profound word, singing and praise, and a range of events for all age groups,” said WBSC President J. Benjamin Hardwick, pastor of Praises of Zion Baptist Church.
The Young People’s Department meets on Saturday, March 1, at 3 p.m. The Mass Musical featuring the Second Baptist choir takes place on Monday, March 3, at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, March 4, the meeting officially opens at 9 a.m., and Pastor Shane B. Scott of Macedonia Baptist Church will preach at noon. At 7 p.m., Pastor Pitts will bring the Word.
The Laymen Session on Wednesday, March 6, begins at 9 a.m., with preaching at noon by Dr. Marvis Davis, WBSC Vice President and pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church. Apostle William T. Broadus of Calvary Baptist Church in Pacoima will deliver the message at 7 p.m.
On Thursday, March 7, at 9 a.m., Dr. Benecia Toms will preside at the Women’s Department session. At noon, the speaker will be Dr. Calvin McKinney, General Secretary of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.
Events conclude at 7 p.m., with Pastor Michael J.T. Fisher of Greater Zion Church Family leading the Young Adult Convention and preaching by Pastor Jacob Johnson of Growing Valley Baptist Church.
