Passion Week, the last days of Christ’s earthly ministry, will be observed with special programs at Walker Temple A.M.E. Church, 2525 Trinity Street in Los Angeles.

“Minister Roderick Elzy of the City of Refuge will be our guest speaker on Palm Sunday, April 17, during our 11 a.m. worship service. Elzy is also the Director of the Fatherhood Initiative, a program of Greater Beginnings for Black Babies,” said Pastor Cedric Alexander.

A free public screening of the movie, ‘The Passion of Christ,’ will be held on Tuesday, April 19, at 7 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by Pastor Edgardo Soto of Iglesia Cristiana Vencedores Por La Fe and Pastor Charles Brown of Christ the Resurrected Church.

“We invite the community to join us for devotion at 6:30 p.m., prior to the movie. Seating is limited, so we are asking people to RSVP in advance for tickets. Also, donations of $5.00 or more will be appreciated to help promote Walker Temple’s Christian Education and Community Outreach programs,” said Rev. Alexander. To reserve a seat, call Cinthia Morris at (213) 747-7454.

On Resurrection Sunday, April 24, Walker Temple and Iglesia Cristiana Vencedores Por La Fe will hold a joint Sunrise Service at 6 a.m., followed by breakfast in the fellowship hall. Pastor Alexander will preach at the Easter worship service at 9:30 a.m.

For details on all events, call (213) 747-7454.
