Can you just wait?
How many people really understand that word? “Why do I need to wait?” they may ask.
Some people think God can be pushed into action, as if they can just push Him around. Some believe they can force things to happen when and how they want. Not smart at all.
You might want something so badly that you assume God must want it for you too—just because your desire is strong. That’s not rational thinking.
You chase something down, only to find out it turns out 100 times worse than you ever imagined. No, you didn’t see that coming. You didn’t picture that what you were craving would end up like this.
Things aren’t always what they seem. In our unrealistic imaginations, we picture the aftermath as glorious—everything coming up roses. But it doesn’t always go that way.
Sometimes we need to stop and ask the Lord about our situation before we act spontaneously, with no knowledge of the uncharted waters we’re diving into. Are you prepared to face the consequences of a surprise leap into the deep?
You might ask: What am I talking about? Well, here’s one example. Let’s say you get a call—or make one—through an online dating service. How would you really know what or who you’re inviting into your life? That person may seem great, authentic—even a miracle. But you can’t truly know someone at first glance.
Waiting can be a blessing. It can protect you from trouble, heartbreak, and wasted time. Curing impatience can save your peace of mind, your money—and your heart.
Here’s another thing. Would you put a cake in the oven and expect it to rise without baking powder? And no, you can’t solve emotional or spiritual problems by jumping into bed with someone you barely know. Not good. Don’t waste your body on cheap sex—going from one person to the next.
Nowadays, that comes a dime a dozen. Women walking around half-naked, thinking that’s the only way to get attention—it’s not. But maybe, you’re just looking for a “quickie.” Whatever the case, all actions have consequences—good or not good. That’s life.
I’m just thinking, talking, and writing. All I’m saying is don’t waste your precious life. Yes, your life is precious and valuable. Don’t be bought. You’re not for sale. Your life is priceless.
You have a Redeemer who can teach you through His Holy Spirit. He can guide you into truth and reality—and keep you from harm and danger.
When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can go to Him with any situation or circumstance. He’s available day or night.
Trust Him. Have faith in Him. All you need is faith the size of a mustard seed. And that little seed of faith? It can grow into a miracle.
