Villaraigosa to Make Historic Announcement of African American Job Creation

Mayor Antonio VillaraigosaMayor Antonio Villaraigosa at the unveiling of his South Los Angeles Plan today will announce that under his administration the City of Los Angeles has over 1200 African Americans working on City of Los Angeles construction sites.

Construction work and the lack of inclusion by African Americans has been a major issue in the city of Los Angeles since the 1992 civil unrest. However, while many mayors have promised to make this a priority

Mayor Villaraigosa is the first mayor to bring this commitment to fruition. The mayor will make this announcement and layout the rest of his South Los Angeles Plan at 9:00 am at 7718 South Vermont in the City of Los Angeles. More information to follow next week.
