The United Gospel Outreach (UGO) extends its missions ministries locally and internationally. UGO has sponsored and co-sponsored evangelistic trips in the southern states and as far away as Haiti and West Africa, said Rev. Joseph Curtiss Jr., UGO founder and owner of Word of Life Christian Bookstore in Los Angeles.
“One of the recent featured ministries at the United Gospel Outreach has been ‘Planning for Successful Marriage’ conducted by Rev. Tom and Jeanine Gonzalez, former staff members of Campus Crusade for Christ International and ministry partners with UGO for over three decades,” said Rev. Curtiss.
“Their 30-year, multi-cultural career has resulted in a successful counseling ministry that includes preparing pre-nuptials for marriages and strengthening healthy unions for those already married. At this level of their enormous success in marriage counseling, they have made a commitment to pass on the baton of these most valuable biblical precepts and materials to senior pastors and leaders in inner-city churches with Couples’ Ministries,” he said using 2 Timothy 2:2 as the scriptural basis.
Last month, Rev. and Mrs. Gonzalez accepted the invitation to share principles for healthy marriages in South Korea and Mainland China. The instruction is the same that is presented in south Los Angeles and at the United Gospel Outreach.
Rev. Curtiss and his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Curtiss, will host two sessions of ‘Planning for Successful Marriage.’ Local residents can attend these sessions this fall at two weekend classes at UGO. The first presentation will be Friday, September 23, and Saturday, September 24. The second session will be Friday, October 7, and Saturday, October 8.
“We invite the public to plan now to register for this important event by calling United Gospel Outreach at (323) 758-1213 or the Word of Life Christian Bookstore at (323) 758-2733,” said Rev. Curtiss.
