On Sunday, August 14th, U.S. Rep. Karen Bass held a Health Care Reform Town Hall examining the progress of the landmark Affordable Care Act one year after its passage. Bass was joined at the event by two panelists- Health and Human Services Regional Director Herb Schultz, and California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones.

The event took place in the University of Southern California’s Seeley G. Mudd building and was attended by a standing room only crowd of over 300 constituents and community members.  After each of the panelists gave brief opening remarks, they participated in a one-hour question and answer session with the audience. Questions ranged from how the Affordable Care Act would affect Medicare and Medicaid, to how implementation would begin in California.

Since taking office in January, Bass has held a number of town halls both in person and telephonically in an effort to inform her constituents of the latest events in Washington D.C. and how they will affect the 33rd District.
