Two teenage boys were found with fatal gunshot wounds in a vehicle that crashed into a parked car in the South Los Angeles area, and the shooter or shooters were at large today.

The victims were found about 11 p.m. Thursday in the 12200 block of Maple Avenue, said Deputy James Nagao of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s
Department. He said deputies from the Century Station were sent to the location on a report of a crash.

“As the deputies responded to the incident, they received updated information indicating that the occupants involved in the traffic collision were also gunshot victims,” Nagao said.

Both teens had been shot in the upper body and were pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

The coroner’s office withheld their names, but CBS2 and KTLA5 reported that family members identified the victims as 16-year-old Millyon Colquitt,
an 11th-grader at Centennial High School who would have turned 17 in a few days, and 17-year-old Jamele Hill, a senior at Gardena High School.

A family member told Channel 2 that a group of five teens were riding in the car. He said they were driving slowly down the street searching for an
address when a suspect walked up and opened fire. The other three teens were not hurt.

Nagao said a motive for the crime was not known, and no suspect information was available.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS. Tipsters
