True Way Science & Tech Day

A laser light show will highlight the 8th Annual Science and Technology Awareness Day on Saturday, June 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 1p.m., at True Way Missionary Baptist Church, 9122 South San Pedro Street in Los Angeles. The Rev. Donald E. Wilson is host pastor.

The Los Angeles African American Engineers and Professional Employees Association (AAEPEA) are sponsoring the free program for students to participate in engineering and scientific displays, exhibits, and experiments. Public agencies, engineering firms, utilities, and science labs will staff the displays.

“By conducting fun, hands-on activities like these, AAEPEA hopes to motivate youth to study math and science and pursue technology type majors in college,” said AAEPEA President Sunny Owairu.

For information or to RSVP, call Theo Higgins at (310) 749-1868 or Tyrie Mitchell at (310) 571-7073.
