What a treat for Los Angeles to be blessed with a magnificent array of Gospel artists performing on the Gospel Stage sponsored by First A.M.E. Church and Radio Free KJLH at the 2011 Taste of Soul. The following are highlights of the event.
Minister Thema Bryant-Davis
For openers, Minister Bryant-Davis graced the spectacular Gospel Stage with a warm and heartfelt prayer.
Hearts were pumping and smiles were beaming as she welcomed the packed crowd into her heart with a whole new level of prayer.
Minister Bryant-Davis is an associate professor at Pepperdine University as well as president-elect of the Society for the Psychology of Women. Her website is drthema.com.
Funny Man and Gospel Comic / MC Maurice…better known as Uncle Bubba kept everything intact and on time on stage, introducing a continuing lineup of splendid Gospel talent. You can catch Uncle Bubba at The Loft on November 6. He can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Brittany Batson, the new Christian recording artist psalmist and songwriter, along with the ultimate sound of The West Angeles Church of God in Christ Mass Choir, rocked the stage by keeping everyone uplifted and begging for more.

Lorenzo Johnson & Praizum
Are you ready for a fresh new voice on the music scene? Lorenzo Johnson is the man behind the sound and what a sound it is!
The name is Praizum! This remarkable sound harnesses the heart and soul of this generation by introducing a new and positive outlet in the music world. Johnson currently serves as the youth pastor and minister of music at Holy Pilgrim Temple.

First Ladies Unplugged
Seven elegant, gracious, and beautifully attired women gave a behind-the-scenes look at life as a first lady. Their insightful discussion enlightened and inspired the crowd as they shared unique and distinctive perspectives. Also, Louise Green Millinery and One of a Kind Hats sponsored a First Lady Hat Give away.
Participants were Lady Denise Hunter of First A.M.E. Church and executive producer of the Taste of Soul Festival’s Gospel Stage, Lady Yvette Williams of Brookins Community A.M.E. Church and event coordinator, Dr. Betty Price of Crenshaw Christian Center, Lady Jacquie G. Wade of Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Lady Togetta Ulmer of Faithful Central Bible Church, Lady Myesha Chaney of Antioch Church of Long Beach, and Lady Sheree Fletcher of City of Hope International Church in San Diego.

Pastor Michael Fisher of Greater Zion Church Family dazzled the crowds with spontaneous, choreographed dances courtesy of the Taste of Soul Flash mob.
