Top Ten Idiots
By Darryl James (Columnist)

One would think that with all of the hype Americans pass around on the status, intelligence and alleged enlightenment of the American people, that there would be fewer blithering idiots running around loose–free to pollute the airways and the public eye with their moronic behavior and stupid messages.

However, since this is still a free country, the idiots have just as much right to exist as the rest of us. We just have to be careful that we don't spend too much time with them, or we will begin to drink their idiot elixir and think that they are not quite so stupid, which is the first step to becoming idiots ourselves.

In many parts of the world, people are thinking that being an idiot is the American Way.

We can prove them wrong by outing the vilest of idiots and making certain to shun them.

Here's my contribution. Add to the list on your own.

In another Top Ten list, here are the top ten Idiots.

1 Republican Party token Michael Steele.

Steele is idiotic to think that the GOP's nod to him had nothing to do with the existence of a Black president. He's also idiotic enough to believe that he can take the GOP's same tired message into new places, delivering an "off the hook" public relations blitz into "urban-suburban hip-hop settings." This moron said: "We want to convey that the modern-day GOP looks like the conservative party that stands on principles. But we want to apply them to urban-suburban hip-hop settings." Well, DUH! The reason why those groups have avoided the GOP is because of their so-called conservative principles, which are counter to the young, hip newer voters who found their values reflected in President Barack Obama. Steele may as well sell French lessons to illegal immigrants.

2 Fox News Moron Steve Doocy.

On Fox & Friends, Doocy criticized the new president for scaring citizens with the realities of the economy and idiotically compared Obama to Depression-era President Franklin D. Roosevelt, using as a negative contrast that president's famous line about fear: "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Apparently, we also have to fear idiots because Doocy wildly misinterpreted the quote as well as Roosevelt's intent. Roosevelt also "scared" the American people with the reality of the economy when he ALSO said in the same inaugural speech: "We face our common difficulties. They concern, thank God, only material things. Values have shrunk to fantastic levels, taxes have risen, our ability to pay has fallen, government of all kinds is faced by serious curtailment of income, the means of exchange are frozen in the currents of trade, the withered leaves of industrial enterprise lie on every side…and the savings of thousands of families are gone. And he added: "Only a foolish optimist can deny the dark realities of the moment." FOX News is a scary network, particularly to have the likes of lying, hateful idiots such as Doocy. The American people need the truth-even if it is scary.

3 The GOP for being quiet for eight years during the Bush Administration.

Dumb little Georgie crapped on the American people, made war based on lies in order to steal oil and make his friends richer and ruined the world economy, yet now idiots in the GOP are blaming Obama for ruining things after less than eight weeks as president.

4 Bitch-assed parents who take out their children before killing themselves.

We all know the economy is screwed and for some people, desperation makes death appear to be the only viable solution. That's weak, but what is weaker still is to take your children's hope and possibilities away by killing them because you were too weak and stupid to take them to a safe haven while you did away with yourself.

5 The Editor of The New York Post for allowing and then justifying the racist cartoon depicting our president as a chimpanzee.

If this is what The Post thinks Freedom of the Press means, then they have ushered in a new era of yellow journalism at its worst.

6 White Americans who think that voting for Barack Obama has solved all of the racial problems in this nation.

'Nuff said.

7 Black Americans who think that the election of a Black president means that there are no more racial difficulties.

'Nuff Said.

8 Rush Limbaugh.

Again-'nuff said.

9 People who are still driving a metaphysical stake into Chris Brown's heart, even though it is becoming increasingly apparent that none of us have all of the details.

Of course, the young man is wrong and probably mentally unstable to mete out such a vicious beatdown to Rihanna. His over the top brutality can not be denied, justified or equivocated. However, since we are now learning that she attacked him first and that such was not an isolated incident, it is clear that she is in need of some serious therapy as well. If we are going to make him the poster boy for domestic abuse, we should also highlight negative behavior the victims display-while a man should never hit a woman, a woman should also never hit a man. Right? Right! There's a reason why she is not eager to pursue legal matters…

10 People who think they have the market all figured out.

Veteran economists are scratching their heads and disagreeing, yet average citizens think they know when the tide will turn and how it will turn. Many of these idiots are the same idiots who rode the dot-com wave too long and are biting their nails over their losses in the housing crisis. It's hard to completely figure out, but thank God we have a president who is honest and has a plan, whether everyone agrees or not.

These are the top ten idiots from my perspective. Please add to the list as you see fit, knowing that every day, someone steps up and proves himself or herself to be a complete bonehead.
