Soon to be college grad has a bright future ahead of her

When our children do well, it should be front news because they are overcoming the odds and making a future for themselves. Lindsay Williams is one of those achievers who is making great strides in her life.

Williams is a senior at UCLA and will be graduating in June with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Williams has served for the past two years as president of Nursing Students at UCLA, the undergraduate nursing student association.

She is also doing research work with the school in oncology and studying on how African-American males use faith to manage prostrate cancer treatment symptoms.

Williams draws her inspiration from her mother, Cynthia Williams and grandmother, Bobbie Mack, who have always placed an emphasis on education and hard work. It seems that the inspiration is going to pay of in a big way.

Congratulations to Lindsay Williams on achieving her goals and doing great things. Hopefully, Williams will remember to bring her shades to her graduation because her future looks mighty bright.
