It will be an astounding evening of celebration and honor for the Honor Thy Father honorees who are the true pillars of family, businesses and community. The highly anticipated 10th Annual Honor Thy Father Awards Dinner will be held Sunday, June 19, 2011 at The Proud Bird Restaurant (Main Ballroom) located at 11022 Aviation Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. The red carpet starts at 5 p.m., the reception starts at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner program starts at 6:30 p.m.

The Honor Thy Father (HTF) Awards is presented by Estelle for Humanity, in conjunction with KIA & Associates and CORE-CA whose mission is to honor the unsung fathers, husbands, brothers, uncles and male mentors. “Most of the men are being publicly acknowledged for the very first time,” said Denise Estelle founder of the HTF Awards Dinner. For a decade, HTF has honored close to 150 men. For some, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Each year this event not only celebrates the men, but celebrates the gift of family and sets the tone for a stronger community. Both personal and public expressions of acknowledgement are the center of this moving celebration. What better day to celebrate then on Father’s Day!

“The Honor Thy Father Awards is a celebration that races the heart and touches the soul”-Terri King, Daughter of Celes King III.

In addition to celebrating 10 years of excellence, this year marks an extra special affair with a significant invitation sent to President Obama to receive the “Lifetime Achievement Award”!

You and your family can participate in this event! “We encourage family and friends to make it a surprise for the honoree,” said Estelle. Most honorees are unaware that they are being honored until the dinner program starts.

Once they are inside, these powerful men will indulge in the “Royal Treatment” and cater with style. In honor of our 10 Year Celebration all past honorees (Alumni) have the opportunity to attend this year free. In addition we are now accepting registration for our 2011 HTF Honorees. To register a honoree, make reservations, buy tickets, ads, obtain sponsorship or vendor information please contact: Estelle for Humanity at: (323) 281-0766.

There will also be a designated Kids Center for the children to enjoy arts and crafts during the awards ceremony. A grand tribute to these profound men will also include a special recognition at the Staple Center where the honorees will be acknowledged at Center Court in front of thousands. Some well known past participants include Michael Cooper, (Basket-ball Coach; Retired NBA All Star, Los Angeles Lakers), William Allen Young (Actor),

Councilmember Bernard C. Parks, Celes King IV, (Civil Rights Activists, Businessman), Gerry Foster, (CEO, Gerry Foster Marketing) and Rev. Cecil Murray, John Bryant, CEO of Operation Hope, Leon Garr, entrepreneur, Tim Watkins, Torre Brannon Reese, founder of the Malcolm X Festival, and the late Mohammed Nassardeen of Recycling Black Dollars just to name a few.

Proceeds from the 10th Annual Honor Thy Father Awards and Dinner will benefit Estelle for Humanity, a 501 c 3 Non-profit organization, with assistance with their various community programs and youth scholarships, Youth Table, Flower Fresh Mondays (flowers for seniors) and more.

This will be an inspirational evening as we celebrate our unsung heroes. You don’t want to miss it.
