The Mayor Puts His Money Where His Mouth Is
Published April 24, 2008

Los Angeles finally has a mayor who has put his money where his mouth is. This message is to personally thank the Mayor for his input. It is not very often that we find someone who is listening to the many concerns that we have as a city. Although I have never been within six degrees of the mayor, I still would like to slap him a high five and tell him how once and for all, how we can solve this space war not the race war with the different families of this fine city.

It is a great day for myself and others who want to see a change in the way we do business here in L.A. and with a little understanding, a couple of real meetings, I feel that this city will once again rise like a phoenix from its ashes. Regardless of what we think of the mayor’s agenda as a whole, we have to wrap our arms around him for making this one concern a priority. I have always said that one man or woman can speak for all of us if he or she is telling the truth. This is true in the case of our lost city.

I would also like to say that many other city officials are to finally be thanked for their tireless efforts towards getting people to see this picture, like Ludlow, Officer Woodle, Lieutenant Gannon, Connie Rice, Bill Martinez, Mr. Parks, and the wonderful articulate president of the ad hoc committee on gangs… who I know helped to spread the fact that we are in this as a people to make a better day for tomorrow. I personally would like to thank you for your honesty and dedication to this, as well as the Unity Collab, a group that got together to help solve this crisis.

I pray that we can bring back the days of yesterday when we worked to solve the problems of the poor people first—like the lack of real positions in the city. Hopefully this effort that we are embarking on will convince the cooperate world to reinvest directly into the people in the $9,000 dollar a year tax bracket. Before it is too late we need to start giving this opportunity to these people who believe in or trust enough to vote us into the positions that we are posting now.

Brother Mayor we thank you and your staff for finally getting the right ingredients from the store of the people in order to bake a pie of peace and love that will reach the nostril of God himself. The mayor is on the right track on this one and we, as a city cannot let him down. We have to prove to him and the cities that nobody can stop this war but us.

There is the slogan that we used during the 1992 Gang Truce. This mayor is using a group of great ideas causing the common purpose in the operation being called for in the program that we as a community commit to. Let us be the first to make not just a better future for the children but also a chance for people who are familiar with this crisis to help better themselves buy getting involved and having a chance to have meaningful employment and change for them and the families that they serve. I thank you Tony for your efforts and I look forward to one day being within 6 degree’s of your great and brilliant mind.
