The Help Group and Music for Autism are proud to be hosting a musical performance featuring violinist Seami Park and Sarah Thornblade, associate principal second violin, both from the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. The concert will be the opening event at The Help Group’s Autism Center to be held Sunday, January 30 at 1:00 p.m. The Help Group Theatre of The Autism Center is located at 13164 Burbank Blvd., Sherman Oaks, CA 91401.
The unique interactive event will feature “concert time” when audience members are free to respond to music as active audience members; “conducting time” when everyone is invited to conduct the musicians; and “percussion time” when participants are asked to play along on percussion instruments provided.
All Music for Autism concerts are fully subsidized and open to those with autism and their families.
The Help Group is the largest, most innovative and comprehensive nonprofit organization in the United States serving children with special needs related to autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, mental retardation, abuse and emotional problems. Music for Autism is raising public awareness and enriching lives through autism-friendly, interactive concerts developed specifically for individuals with autism and their families. The concerts held in the United States and United Kingdom feature professional musicians, including Tony Award winners and Grammy-nominated classical artists. To ensure equal access for all, every Music for Autism concert is fully subsidized. Families note that the concerts fill a major psychosocial void, enabling them to enjoy enriching activities that are inclusive of children with autism.
