The Danny J. Bakewell, Sr. Primary Center

Children at the Danny J. Bakewell, Sr. Primary Center of the Los Angeles Unified School District were treated to a special day of reading in their classrooms by officers of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). In an effort of foster a positive relationship between the school and the law enforcement community, Robbie Belcher, the principal, extended the invitation to the LAPD to visit the school, and interact with the children.

The school consists of 13 classrooms, and houses pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students. The officers were led by Deputy Chief Patrick Gannon and members of the 77th Street, Jess Brewer Station of the Southeast Division.
