The voice of South L.A. was amplified by community leaders on March 10, at the “Making Los Angeles Whole” round table discussion. They spoke candidly about the means of a financial arrangement for the anticipated $1 billion dollars coming from federal assistance.
PBS SoCal, Southern California’s home for the premieres of new PBS programs, hosted the world premiere of the new documentary Hollywood’s Architect: The Paul R. Williams Story on Feb. 3 at Raleigh Studios in Los Angeles. Over 175 guests attended the red-carpet event and standing room only screening and panel discussion that included legendary music producer Quincy Jones, Disney CEO and Williams’ homeowner Robert Iger, as well as Williams’ grandchildren Paul Hudson, Gayle Harvey Beavers and Karen Hudson-Freeman.
Nikki Micheaux is the “Lincoln Heights” actress who’s finding new ground as the star of the upcoming pulp-fiction film, “LOWLIFE,” directed by Ryan Prows. “LOWLIFE” follows Micheaux as “Crystal,” a surviving addict who becomes a hero trying to save her alcohol ridden husband’s life, by acquiring a kidney from the daughter she gave away.
