On August 25, 2020 Council Members Curren Price and Herb Wesson introduced a motion to rename a portion of Figueroa Street to Kobe Bryant Boulevard. One of two helicopter companies being sued by the widow of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant stemming from the crash in January that killed her husband and 13-year-old daughter, along with seven others, denied any responsibility for the accident in a statement issued today.
