Los Angeles Leaders Gather for Screening/Discussion of Black Maternal Health with Documentary, Birthing Justice

Special Call to Action from Cousin of April Valentine Who Recently Died During Childbirth at Centinela Hospital, Mykesha Mack, RN  The political battle over women’s bodies has intensified and for good reason.  In the United States, having a baby can be lethal for Black mothers who are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy related causes than white women.  Friday, Jan. 27,  Los Angeles community leaders will gather to discuss this endemic in the wake of April Valentine’s death. The discussion will come after a screening of the latest documentary on the issue of Black maternal health
