The women of the Southwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of California plan a week of celebration and praise starting Monday, September 10, through Thursday, September 13, at the 88th Street Temple Church of God in Christ, 8825 South Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles.

Bishop B.R. Benbow is Jurisdictional Prelate, Mother Joan Walker is Supervisor of Women, Superintendent Noble Henson is Jurisdictional Administrative Assistant and Elder Anthony Williams is the host pastor.

The theme for the convention is ‘100 Years of Women in Ministry Continuing to Seek God’s Way for Now and Future Generations.’ The scripture reference is Ezra 8:28 and 2 Chronicles 7: 12-15.

The week begins with a musical on Monday night, directed by Dr. Iris Stevenson and Evangelist Lillie Smarr.  The Annual Leadership Conference starts on Tuesday at 11 a.m., under the direction of District Missionary Lula Clark.

Among the Convention’s highlights is the Institute Hour each night at 6:30 p.m., conducted by Dr. Hillrie Murphy and District Missionary Clark. The worship begins at 8 p.m., on Wednesday and Friday.  On Thursday, the service takes place at 7:45 p.m., and Supervisor Walker will deliver the official message.

The President’s Banquet is on Saturday, September 15, at the Proud Bird Restaurant, 11022 Aviation Boulevard in Los Angeles.

The registration package includes workshop material, banquet ticket and other amenities.  For information, call Evangelist Shirley Boyd at (323) 574-5004 or email
