The discovery of “suspicious packages” near the Metro Expo Line station on Exposition and Crenshaw area on Wednesday, Feb. 4 prompted authorities to close a section of the tracks and road disrupting traffic flow for about two hours.
“Around 10:45 this morning metro construction workers found a suspicious package by the SouthWest station and called in a report. After they called in the report we contacted LAPD and that is when the area was blocked off,” said Jose Ubaldo, Communications Manager for Metro.
The packages discovered were placed between Jefferson Blvd. and Rodeo Road late morning, according to Los Angeles Police Department.

LAPD’s conducted a thorough investigation including the LAPD Bomb Tactical Team, LAPD Air Support, and Los Angeles Fire Department. Bus routes took detours around the area while the investigation took place.

Metro reported the area was declared safe at approximately 12:30 p.m.
