Blair Holliday has two activities that he spends countless hours at.  Academics and sports, and he is excelling on a very high level at both.

Holliday finished his junior year with a 3.7 cumulative grade point average, taking mostly AP and honors courses.

When Holliday is not studying, he’s practicing at whatever sport that is in season.  He has excelled at football, basketball, and baseball.

Holliday’s father Rick believes that basketball is his son’s best sport, but he is so athletic that he has been able to naturally pick up numerous sports, and numerous positions within those sports.

Holliday played quarterback almost exclusively while playing Pop Warner football, but when he enrolled at Oaks Christian, which has become a quarterback factory, it looked like a switch to wide receiver would be best because of the amount of players trying to win the quarterback position.

The switch was pretty easy for Holliday.  His father believes that being a center fielder in baseball for numerous years made the transition easy.  On deep routes Holliday can track the ball with ease and he ends up getting under the ball, just like a center fielder would.

After Holliday’s freshman year playing on the JV team he moved up to varsity as a sophomore, and by the third game of the season he was named the starter and he never gave up the position.

Since moving up to varsity, Holliday has played on two championship teams and has been named to the last two First Team All Tri-Valley League teams.

This past year Holliday caught 71 passes for 969 yards and 14 touchdowns.  He also added a rushing and passing touchdown.

After the football season is over Holliday switches over to basketball.  Last year he was named to First Team All Tri-Valley League as a guard.  He played on the baseball team for his freshman and sophomore seasons, but the coach at Oaks Christian decided to stick with players who would be able to practice during the fall and winter, when Holliday is playing football and basketball.

Holliday’s grades plus his athletic ability drew the interest of a number of colleges.  At 6’3”, 195 lbs, with a 4.5 40-yard dash time and a 3.7 grade point average, he can pretty much write his own ticket.

At the moment Holliday has verbally committed to play football at Duke, but half the PAC 10 is recruiting him, along with other western teams.  UCLA, Washington, California, Arizona, Arizona St., Colorado, Colorado St., and Boise St. are all calling.

Holliday chose Duke (he can still change his mind) because the university is one of the best in the nation academic wise.

Holliday is also active in his community.  He is a member of the True Spirit Community Church Youth Ministries, and with the Conejo Promise, which is an organization that enhances the cultural and social growth of African Americans and provides scholarship opportunities and resources for future education endeavors.
