SPARKS DON’T FLY

Superstar Candice Parker currently does not have a team because the Los Angeles Sparks WNBA basketball team is currently without ownership.

The Sparks ownership claimed loses of  $12 million since 2007 and has given up control.

Sparks chairman Paula Madison informed the league right before Christmas that her family-owned company would no longer be involved with the team.

Madison said the team had lost $1.4 million this past year, and that her family couldn’t sustain the losses anymore. All of the front office personnel including the general manager have been terminated. Unless a new ownership group steps up the WNBA could lose one of its flagship franchises.
