Say Cheese Cafe in Silverlake, Saturday, June 27

On Saturday, June 27th, Soul Cups Cupcake and Catering owner and founder and Echo Park resident, Celeste Alleyne will showcase her cupcakes made with down home, soulful ingredients during a cupcake tasting from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Say Cheese Cafe, 2800 Hyperion Avenue in Silverlake, California. Cafe guests will experience free samples of Soul Cups featured specialties including: Muddy Water Chocolate; Pound ‘O Butter; Peanut Butter Cup and Peppermint Cupcakes.

“Celeste is a passionate baker, who cares deeply about her product as she does her clients,” says Say Cheese Cafe owner, Glenn Harrell. “She truly has a diverse following from across the city and county, and folks are talking about Soul Cups. This is a young entrepreneur who will go far and we’re proud to feature her at the cafe and support her new venture.”

“Soul Cups cupcakes are great,” says Northrop Grumman Vice President Sandra Evers-Manly. “My film festival attendees gave them lots of raves. People really, really loved the chocolate ones and loved the name. And, for the holidays I ordered the peppermint ones for my staff.”

Soul Cups Cupcakes catering company was created by Celeste Alleyne, a young baker, trained by her father, a professional chef. Celeste has also studied at the Cordon Bleu in Paris, France, Tuscany, Italy and various California cooking schools. Celeste refuses to use chemicals or preservatives; she uses only wholesome ingredients including: farm fresh buttermilk, decadent German and Dutch cocoa powder and European butters. (Vegan cupcakes can be special-ordered.)

With more than twenty-five years in broadcast communications, public and community relations, Celeste uses her marketing talents mixed with creative juices in the kitchen. It is her dream to build a baking empire to include not only her cupcakes but also specialty cakes, pies and truffles. During the holidays, try Celeste’s delectable Peppermint Cake–no one can have just one slice– topped with fresh Peppermint ice cream.

Current Soul Cups clients include: Say Cheese Cafe, Microsoft; Northrop Grumman; African American Film Festival; URBiz Magazine; Tavis Smiley Foundation & Enterprises; California Artist Coalition for America and a host of private and celebrity clients.
