The Interdenominational Ministers’ Wives and Widows Council of Los Angeles and Vicinity held its Installation of Officers Luncheon on December 8, at the Marriott South Bay Hotel in Torrance.

Elder Gentry Richardson, pastor of the Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church of Los Angeles, installed the 2013 officers and Dr. Bennie R. Petitt, outgoing president, gave her tenure address. Also, three ‘Women of Faith’ were recognized for their service to the church and community.

Highlighting the affair was the scholarship award to Destiny McMillan. A graduate of Westchester Magnet High School, Destiny attends Los Angeles Southwest College majoring in 3D animation. She is also a member of Miracle Center Apostolic Church where the Suffragan Bishop Roy Petitt is the pastor.

“This sisterhood has been assisting young people in attaining their educational goals for many years. In addition, we are involved with many activities in an effort to make our community a better place to live,” said President Kathye Jenkins.

“We gladly welcome other sisters to join us as we work together to accomplish our goals,” added Dr. Jenkins, who serves as first lady of Abundant Grace Bible Church in Hawthorne.

“Call me at (310) 567-4231 or Scholarship Chairperson Claudia D. Powers of Adoram Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles at (323) 756-5846.”
