Saxophonist Andre Delano has been entertaining jazz fans since grade school in East St. Louis. Now the accomplished musician has come out with his second solo album entitled "My So Fine."

The album is a collection of 14 original songs with a mix of vocals and instrumentals that will turn an evening with a slight romantic spark into a night of hot passionate fire.

Delano became interested in playing the saxophone when he was eight years old. He would go to his cousin's house and watch him play for his girlfriend. When he saw the effect that the saxophone had on her he knew that he had to learn how to play that instrument.

Delano's early training came from the public schools that he attended. He attended Lincoln High School. According to Delano musicians trained at Lincoln, the alma mater of legendary jazz trumpeter Miles Davis, easily received college scholarships. Lincoln required Delano to practice for one hour before school and five hours after.

"We won every competition, including Down Beat Magazine's national competition," Delano said. "In my three years at Lincoln we never lost. We were number one at everything."

Delano went on to Jackson St. University, where he majored in Business and finished in the top of his class. He had five job offers related to business, but his calling was in music. So he made his way out here to Los Angeles and has played with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Maxwell, Bobby Womack, Jeff Lorber, Chieli Minucci, Doc Powell, and Bobby Lyle.

Delano has made a good career playing along side big stars, but he was ready to break out on his own. In many shows that he preformed at he outsold the main act. In 2005 he released his first album entitled "Full Circle." The album was a mainstay on the charts with the singles "Night Riders" and "Foot Steps" that featured Earth, Wind and Fires' original guitarist Al McKay.

Music Connection Magazine wrote, "Full Circle is rhythmically explosive and mega-soulful… a cool mix with a romantic chill."

Delano followed in 2006 with a Christmas release entitled "First Christmas" that features one original song and nine Christmas cover songs, including "Jingle Bells," "O Come all Ye Faithful," and "Jolly old Saint Nicholas."

His current album "My So Fine" received eight out of 10 stars from The review stated that "Delano goes Latin, then romantic and even gets a little crazy, progressive and jamming. He proves himself a formidable modern R&B voice on a few tracks that offer a beautiful balance to the instrumental fun."

Delano's music can be listened to on his website,, on myspace,, and His albums can be purchased on at Best Buy, Circuit City, and His Christmas album is a very good purchase for this time of the year.
