Rev. Leonardo V. Wilborn

Save Our Sons Prison/Justice Ministry presents ‘A Roof For Momma Affordable Housing Panel and Workshop’ on Sunday, July 21, at 2:30 p.m., in the Clayton Hammond Hall at Crenshaw United Methodist Church, 3740 Don Felipe Drive in Los Angeles.  The Rev. Dr. Derrick Noble is the host pastor.

The free event is co-sponsored by Holman Community Development Corporation of Holman United Methodist Church, where the Rev. Kelvin Sauls is the senior pastor.

‘A Roof For Momma’ is an annual program featuring professionals in fair housing, public housing, mental health, Veterans Administration, apartment management, apartment ownership, foster family administration, transitional housing administration, and others who provide services to at-risk members of the greater Los Angeles County.

The program includes two panel discussions on various housing issues, free informational brochures, free dinner, question and answer session, and an opportunity to process rental applications.

The Rev. Leonardo V. Wilborn, pastor of United Methodist Church of Bellflower, is the panel moderator.  An ordained elder of the Word and Sacrament, he previously served at parishes throughout the area including Holman, Crenshaw, First Compton, and Wesley United Methodist Churches.

Also, the Rev. Wilborn is a doctoral candidate at Fuller Theological Seminary. His studies focus on the intersection between the church, private property ownership, stewardship, and societal views on helping those considered less fortunate.

In addition, the Rev. Wilborn is an at-large-member of the Culver City Landlord Tenant Mediation Board, a licensed California Broker and a board member of the Los Angeles and Long Beach Apartment Associations.
