Patti LaBelle cast in new season of American Horror Story: Freak Show

Off the hills of Broadway’s Cotton Club musical After Midnight, Patti LaBelle joins the cast of “American Horror Story: Freak Show.” “The singer will be seen in a recurring role as Gabourey Sidibe’s Mom, a local townsperson who begins to unravel the murderous secrets of Twisty the clown killer,” according to report. With credits that include “A Different World,” “Idlewild,” “Mama I Want to Sing” and much more, LaBelle will be seen working side by side with Sidibe, Angela Bassett, Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates in the new season four of  “AHS:Freak Show” set in Jupiter, Florida in 1950. The fantasy-horror flick premieres October 15.

Rumor Mill: Bad Boys III in the works

Martin Lawrence recently wrote on his Twitter page: “11 years ago today, #BadBoysII was released in theaters…Feelin’ it’s about time for #3… what do you think Will?”  Lawrence is currently starring in a new show Partners with Kelsey Grammer. The comedic actor may be alluding to a third installation of Bad Boy III, with the franchise having two previous box office hits, it’s not shocking to as why Lawrence and Smith may come together again for the third installment of the film. “I believe so. Yes. I just talked to Jerry Bruckheimer,” Lawrence told “Conan” host Conan O’Brien confirming the rumors. “He said it’s real, they’re working on a script, they’re close and it all looks good.”

Oscar Award winning actress Octavia Spencer stars in FOX series Red Band Society

Based upon the Spanish series Catalan drama series Polseres vermelles, medical drama Red Band Society is a dark dramedy focused on a group of teenagers living together as patients in a hospital’s pediatric ward. The series follows the daily lives of a group of teenagers living in a hospital who become unlikely friends. Written and produced by Nagle and Justin Falvey, the show stars Octavia Spencer (“The Help” and “Fruitvale Station”) as ill-tempered but caring Nurse Jackson alongside Dave Annable as Dr. Jack McAndrew and Astro (Echo) as Dash Hosney. From Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, the provocative and unconventional drama Red Band Society premieres Wednesdays September 17 on Fox.
