Nick Cannon Campaigns for the Role of Richard Pryor on Screen

Nick Cannon is going for the role to play Comedy Legend Richard Pryor on film. Cannon’s eagerness for the part wasn’t bought over immediately, Pryor’s son, Richard Pryor Jr. initially didn’t favor the actor playing his father; however the recently reported that Pryor Jr. had changed his mind regarding Cannon for the role, “I am actually very excited about it now. He changed my mind by how he is delving into it.” Cannon’s apparent devotion to learning to live like Pryor has apparently impressed the legendary comedian’s son. “He did the small thing of using his left hand instead of his right hand, he picked up smoking to try and emulate my dad, and he’s let his hair grow out. He’s looking into who my dad really was, looking into his childhood, who he was raised by and around, and he is interested in talking to me about who my dad was.”  Along with Cannon, comedic actors Marlon Wayans and Mike Epps have critics in a media debate on who should play Pryor in director Lee Daniel’s film.
