Record-A-Thon to be held for the Blind and Dyslexic

Record-A-Thon Harnesses Remarkable Volunteer Power, Bringing Books to Life for Students With Print Disabilities

Throughout the week of April 19 at RFB&D’s Hollywood recording studio, hundreds of volunteer readers will put in extra hours at the microphone to transform printed textbooks into easy-to-navigate audio books – enabling students with print disabilities to learn through listening and enjoy educational success. RFB&D Hollywood Studio is located at 5022 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles. Hours April 19-22 (9:30a.m. to 9:30 p.m.) and April 23-24 (9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).

On Tuesday and Thursday, April 20 and 22, 6 to 7 p.m. the Hollywood studio will host an Open House tour with wine and cheese, free to the public. To RSVP, email or call Rob Young at (323) 664-5525 ext. 107.

The Hollywood volunteers will join thousands more across the U.S. in the Record-A-Thon campaign to record books, raise funds, and boost public awareness about RFB&D and people with learning differences.

A national non-profit offering the largest audio textbook library in the world, RFB&D provides life-changing access to the printed word for over a quarter-million students and veterans with visual impairments or learning disabilities like dyslexia. The public and media are welcome to visit. Free parking.
