Aiming to reach more souls for Christ, Price Chapel A.M.E. Church will add a second worship service on starting Sunday, June 10, in its edifice located at 4000 West Slauson Avenue in Los Angeles.
“After listening to the hearts and minds of various members and after much prayer and meditation, the Price Chapel Family voted unanimously to offer two services at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., on the second, third and fourth Sundays of the month,” said Pastor Cedric V. Alexander, adding that worship on the first and fifth Sundays will continue at 10 a.m.
“Our spirit-filled, energetic, early morning worship service is guaranteed to provide the spiritual boost needed to prepare for challenges for the week ahead,” said Sister Patricia Mayberry.
“Also, a second service gives us another opportunity to serve the community,” noted Associate Minister Michael Jackson.
The additional worship is just one of the new ministries underway at Price Chapel. A free Community Breakfast is available every fourth Saturday of the month and later this year, the congregation will open a food bank, provide Red Cross preparedness training, and offer alcohol and chemical dependency services.
“We also have been spreading the Gospel through our Sunday radio ministry on KTYM 1460 AM at 9 a.m. It includes selections by our music ministry directed by Brother Carl Johnson and we’ve received prayer requests from Seattle, Washington. Plus, my 81 year old mother listens every Sunday in the San Francisco Bay Area via the internet at www.KTYM.com,” said Pastor Alexander.
