President, Oklahoma’s Governor, as well as Spencer Mayor Commend the Centenarian
Beulah Galbraith Warren Osborne, who celebrated her 100th birthday on January 7, 2012.
A letter of congratulations from President Barack Obama’s was read at the celebration, and letters of commendation from Gov. Mary Fallin of Oklahoma, and Mayor Earnest D.W. Ware and the Loving St. James Baptist Church of Spencer, OK, were acknowledged.
Leave the men alone,? Mrs. Osborne said jokingly, when asked about her key to longevity, but she added seriously that it’s important ?to be forgiving and to pray daily.
Mrs. Osborne, a longtime resident of Spencer and member of St. James Baptist Church, has lived through the terms of 18 presidents of the United States.
The birthday celebration was attended by more than 100. The celebration was planned by Mrs. Osborne’s two daughters (Barbara Hunt, Orange County, CA and Patricia Watts of Diamond Bar, CA), and her son (Curtis Warren of Houston, TX). Also, the affair was planned by Latonya Fomby of Corona, CA, Monica Pearce of Orange, CA and Ariel Watts of Chino Hills, CA, all of who are among the centenarian’s grandchildren.
Mrs. Osborne was the youngest of nine children (all of her siblings are deceased).
One of Mrs. Osborne’s four children is also deceased. She has 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and three great-great children.
One of Mrs. Osborne’s great grandchildren (Olivia Louise Stout), the daughter of Myron and Emeline Stout of Houston, TX) was born on December 22, 2011.
