The Samaritans Men’s Ministry and Women’s Christian Fellowship of People’s Independent Church of Christ will unite for a special celebration on Sunday, September 29, in the sanctuary at 5856 West Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Annual Men and Women’s Day will be observed and the greater Los Angeles community is invited to attend, said Bishop Craig A. Worsham, senior pastor.

“We will begin our celebration at 8 a.m., with a powerful message by Brother Brian Jones, president of our Samaritans Men’s Ministry,” said Bishop Worsham.

“Worship and praise continues at 11 a.m., as Brother Ashely Thomas III delivers the Word,” he said. Brother Thomas is president of the Young Adult Ministry and president of the Los Angeles-based Consolidated Board of Realtists.

The celebration culminates at 4 p.m., with Bishop Miquail Broadus, Sr., pastor of Grace Temple Baptist Church, preaching the Annual Day sermon.

The Men’s Choir, directed by Keith Nevels, will provide the music at the morning services.  Both the Women’s and Men’s Choirs will perform at the 4 p.m. worship.

People’s Independent has served the South Los Angeles community for more than 98 years.  Acclaimed for its outreach ministries, the church also serves as the headquarters for the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) – L.A. Chapter and the Musicians in Action (MIA).

For more information, call the church office at (323) 296-5776.
