Gordon Solomon could face up to 26 years for his crimes if convicted.

In Inglewood, CA, Christ Community Church (CCC) pastor, Gordon Solomon has been charged with nine felony accounts for allegedly committing lewd acts with a 14-year old female member of his church. The two-year old indecent relationship had gone unnoticed by family, friends and members until recent events brought the truth to light.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LACSD) stated Solomon’s contact with the victim started through the church. The alleged acts have supposedly been taking place between June 1, 2010 and July 1, 2012 according to the District Attorney’s Office. Supposedly, during that time period, a relationship developed with then 12-year old victim with the two exchanging emails and texts of a sexual nature while met at various locations.

The mother of the young girl contacted authorities after finding an explicit text. Solomon was arrested on suspicion of committing felony lewd acts upon a child. He was being held at the South Los Angeles Station on $3 million bail.

He’s being charged with seven counts of committing lewd acts on a child, one count of continuous sexual abuse and one count of oral copulation of a person under the age of 14.

Many have stated that CCC acts as source of hope and community outreach.  Members of CCC find themselves in a state of shock as they try to grapple with the allegations against their pastor. Some members of his church have stated that they find all of this hard to believe while others are saying that they have lost faith in Solomon. Many showed their support for their pastor on Friday evening, the day of his arraignment in court.

The pastor was said to be very involved in youth activities in the church by members. Those that have worked with Solomon have stated that they never observed anything strange about his behavior.

The 50-year-old pastor of the 200-member church will make his initial court appearance December 5 at the Inglewood Courthouse according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Solomon could face a maximum sentence of 26 years and eight months in prison if found guilty. The case is still under investigation by the LACSD. Authorities are investigating the possibility of more victims. Solomon was arraigned Friday, July 6 and pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
