Rev. Larry W. Foy
Park Hills Community Church, Reformed Church in America, will observe its Fifth Annual Men’s Day on Sunday, June 24, at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Larry W. Foy is the guest preacher and Charles Balls is the Men’s Fellowship president. The theme is ‘A Godly Man’ based on John 9:31-38.
Perry V. Hayes, director of music, will lead the special Men’s Chorus that will include singers and musicians from Park Hills’ sister church, The R.O.C.K. Mr. Hayes is a long-time member of the Spirit Chorale of Los Angeles and the music director of the United Male Chorus of Los Angeles.
The Rev. Foy was previously executive pastor at Lincoln Memorial Congregational Church, UCC, and currently serves in various ministries of the church. Ordained as a Baptist minister, he is also president of the Congregations Organizations Citizens Organizing for Action (COCOA-NLA).
His professional background includes director of programs for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and director of Urban Ministry for the Southern Cal/Nevada Conference, UCC.
A graduate of North Central College in Illinois, the Rev. Foy earned his master’s degree in Theology from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. He received an Honorary Doctorate in Divinity from United Theological Seminary and has studied for his Ph.D. in religion at the University of Southern California.
Also, the Rev. Foy is the author of ‘Hope in Heaven and Faith for Today: An African American Perspective on the Coming of the Kingdom of God.’
The greater Los Angeles community is invited to attend the worship service followed by a luncheon reception.
