Park Hills Community Church will celebrate its 6th Annual Men’s Day on Sunday, June 23, at 11 a.m.  Pastor Lawrence K. Dove will preach on the theme, ‘God, Service and Community – A Salute to Veterans.’

Guests from Los Angeles American Legion Post 250 (Jackie Robinson) and Post 209, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2122 in Inglewood will also be honored.

Pastor Larry was raised in South Los Angeles.  After serving in the U.S. Army, he received his degree in computer business applications from CSU – Dominguez Hills.  Also, he attended Fuller Theological Seminary where he earned a MA degree in Theology.

The Rev. Dove began his ministry at Holy Temple Mission Faith Center as an associate pastor. He and his wife, the Rev. Yolanda Dove, next served at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Paramount.  He was the associate minister in charge of the Noon Worship Service and also responsible for the Compton Initiative Outreach Ministry.

Installed at Park Hills in 2012, Pastor Larry has developed a creative ministry such as using visual aids in worship and forming a teen ministry, ‘Kick Back’ with sister church, The R.O.C.K.

Director of Music Perry V. Hayes, who has served since 2008, will lead the special Men’s Chorus.   He is a member of the Spirit Chorale of Los Angeles and music director of the United Male Chorus of Los Angeles.

Pastor Dove and Elder Charles Balls, Men’s Fellowship president, invite the community to attend.  A luncheon reception will follow.

Park Hills is located on the corner of Northridge and Overhill Drives in Los Angeles.
