Kyle Anderson recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists to lead No. 22 UCLA past Cal State San Marcos, 109-79, in an exhibition game on Monday Nov. 4.

The Bruins finished with five players in double figures. Tony Parker registered a double-double, logging 17 points and 16 rebounds while also blocking a game-high four shots. David Wear scored 21 points and added eight rebounds.

Malcolm Lemmons led Cal State San Marcos with 20 points, making 7 of 14 field goal attempts.

UCLA’s Jordan Adams filled the stat sheet, logging 16 points, six rebounds, a game-high four steals and three assists. Adams finished a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line, helping the Bruins sink 27 of 31 free throws against Cal State San Marcos.

UCLA led the visiting Cougars at halftime, 49-39, and had built a 12-point lead (20-8) nearly six minutes into the contest. Cal State San Marcos trimmed the Bruins’ margin to as few as two points (28-26) with 8:28 left before intermission. UCLA used a 17-10 scoring run over the final 5:29 of the first half to secure a 10-point halftime advantage.

Cal State San Marcos relied on its three-point shooting to stay within reach of UCLA. The Cougars made 14 of 42 three-point shots (33.3 percent) and limited the Bruins to just four of 17 three-pointers (23.5 percent).

UCLA pulled away in the second half, extending its 10-point halftime lead to 19 points (64-45) with 16:41 left in regulation. The Bruins twice led by as many as 32 points late in the second half.

Anchored by Parker in the low post, the Bruins dominated the opposition by a 62-22 margin in the paint. UCLA converted 14 Cal State San Marcos turnovers for 19 points and won the rebounding battle, 60-33.

The Bruins will tip off their regular season against Drexel on Friday, Nov. 8. Game time in Pauley Pavilion is 9 p.m. The contest will be televised live on Pac-12 Networks and will also be available on the radio on AM 570.
