Gardena Serra 81-Upland 50

Coach Dwan Hurt Serra Cavaliers continued to roll by routing the Highlanders in a morning affair during their first appearance at the Extravaganza.

Five players scored in double figures, led by Northridge bound senior Tavrion Dawson’s game high 21.

The victory for the Cavs was their 9th consecutive to improve to 17-6. Among the Cavs victims during their streak include Del Rey League rival Bishop Montgomery and Los Angeles City power Fairfax.

Junior Kristopher Martin chipped in with 11, sophomore Ian Carter 10 and 6 rebounds, junior guard Jason Richardson had 10 points and a game high 7 assist, and sophomore guard Lafayette Dorsey finished with 10 points and 3 assist.

The Serra defense forced Upland into 31 turnovers and held them to under 40 percent shooting for the game.
