Still Standingî (Matt. 16:18) is the theme for the 41st Church Anniversary of New Antioch Church of God in Christ, set for Sunday, February 6, at 11 a.m., at 7826 S. Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, announced Pastor Jeffrey Lewis.

ìWe invite the entire community to attend our anniversary celebration. Tributes and historical reflections will be presented and the Mass Choir will render the music,î said Pastor Lewis.

New Antioch was founded by retired former Pastor and First Lady, Dr. James and Dr. Barbara McCoo Lewis.  The ministry was launched in their home in January 1970, and shifted briefly to a storefront on Manchester Avenue.  In late 1970, the church moved to its current location.

In 1999, Elder Jeffrey Lewis was appointed to the office of Assistant Pastor and Assistant Church Administrator. In January 2001, he was elevated to Co-Pastor.  In January 2006, Elder Jeffrey Lewis was appointed Senior Pastor of the New Antioch Church upon the retirement of his father.

ìSince his appointment, God has used him in a mighty way. Many lives have been changed, many souls have been saved and his ministry has tremendously blessed the church,î said a member.  With more than 50 auxiliaries and committees, New Antioch has an active Outreach Department which provides a monthly community feeding program, hospital, convalescent homes, transition homes, juvenile hall, sick & shut-in visitations, along with prison and community door to door witnessing teams.

Pastor Lewis said, ìI count it an honor to build upon the foundation laid by my father and mother in ministry and thank God for the opportunity to lead His people towards their place of promise.î† Pastor Lewisí dynamic expository teaching is broadcast each week on Faith Video On Demand (, one of the world’s fastest providers of Internet broadcast services.
