After an extensive eight-month search, the members of historic Pacific Mount Olive Church of God in Christ selected Superintendent Milton L. Joyner as their new pastor.

According to Trustee Board Chair Anthony L. Spence, the congregation is blessed and inspired each Sunday through the pastors anointed, thought-provoking and mind-transforming messages.

“Supt. Joyner is a true shepherd, and not a hireling, who genuinely has a heart for God’s people,” said Spence.

He has instituted a monthly outreach ministry to the poor in the downtown Los Angeles skid-row district and a free transportation service to church services.

?Also, First Lady Belinda Joyner leads the women’s ministries with great organizational skills and is also a powerfully anointed soloist, he added.

Pacific Mount Olive has been an anchor of the COGIC community in Southern California for nearly 100 years. In June, the church became officially affiliated with the California Southwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of presiding prelate, Bishop Hillrie Murphy.

On August 6, Bishop Murphy convened a fellowship service at Pacific Mount Olive to welcome members into the jurisdiction.

We are grateful and welcome this day, said Bobbie E. Dotson, long time Pacific Mount Olive member and chairman of the Deacon Board.

Pacific Mount Olive Church is located at 1385 East 21st Street in Los Angeles. Sunday worship takes place at 11:30 a.m. and every first Sunday at 6 p.m. On Wednesdays at 7 p.m., Prayer and Bible Study Service is held.  For information, call (213) 741-0339.
