Annual Men’s Day will be celebrated on Sunday, November 20, at 4 p.m., at Crossroads United Methodist Church, located at 2354 North Wilmington Avenue in Compton.

“A special invitation is extended to everyone throughout the city to join us. Our dynamic, anointed guest speaker will be the Rev. Jody D. Moore, senior pastor of Praise Tabernacle Bible Church in Chino. Pastor Moore is a native of Compton and well-known throughout the community and abroad,” Pastor Royce V. Porter.

Rev. Moore grew up in the United Methodist Church. He delivered his first sermon at Crossroads UMC at age 18 and later served as youth pastor. His ministry was launched at Alhambra First United Methodist Church where he served as youth pastor and touched lives across cultural and racial lines.

Rev. Moore’s first ‘flock’ was a group of Chinese American youths that he continues to mentor and counsel. He has also preached at various Korean churches across the country and visited many ministries abroad.

Rev. Moore served as executive pastoral assistant at Faithful Central Bible Church for two years before answering the call of senior pastor at Praise Tabernacle. In December 2003, he received a master’s degree from Talbot School of Theology.

The theme for Men’s Day is ‘Keeping the Faith in Times of Struggle.’ The chairperson is Brother Alan Miles and co-chairperson is Brother Albert Anderson.

The Crossroads Men’s Day Chorus, directed by Minister of Music Linda B. Miles, will render the music. The Praise Team of Praise Tabernacle along with other guest soloists will also perform.
