Park Hills Community Church, Reformed Church in America, will celebrate their 27th Annual Women’s Day on Sunday, May 18, at 11 a.m., at 5247 Overdale Drive in Los Angeles.
The theme is ‘Women Acknowledging God Through Service’ based on Proverbs 3:5-10. The Rev. Beverly J. Powell will be the guest preacher.
“Rev. Bev, as she is affectionately known, teaches the uncompromised gospel of Jesus Christ and shares that empowerment with others as the Holy Spirit empowers her,” said Pastor Lawrence K. Dove.
“The community is invited to Annual Women’s Day and the gala reception following the worship service.”
The Rev. Powell is the Director of Congregational Care at New Hope Presbyterian Church in Orange, CA. Previously, she served as Vice President of the Ministers’ Association, Minister of Music, and Director of Marriage and Family Ministry.
A magnum cum laude graduate of Bethel Christian College, the Rev. Powell is currently working on her master’s degree in Theology. Also, she is a licensed California Realtor and certified in Non-profit Business Management.
Dr. Hansonia Caldwell-Harriford will direct the Women’s Day Chorus. A renowned musician, she serves as Minister of Music at Knox Presbyterian Church in Ladera Heights.
Mrs. Gay K. Morris is president of the Women’s Ministries and Mrs. Mona Anderson is the Women’s Day Chairperson.
